About Us

Surviving Hungary Project is a venture to help foreigners who started to study Hungarian language because of individual interest, family relations, business, exchange programs etc.

 

We chose the word surviving because we wanted to express in a funny way that studying Hungarian is quite a suicidal action.  If you don't know WHY, you will surely get to know soon...

 

"I can speak English. I will communicate with Hungarians in English." - hahaha. Yes, give it a try.

 

 

'Hope dies last.'

 

 

If you are staying in Hungary, you should know at least the basic expressions in Hungarian and PRONOUNCE THEM CORRECTLY. Due to my own experiences Hungarian people are usually impatient and intolerant with foreigners. (I love my country and my nation but I have to say the truth.) Go in a shop, manage official things, ask for directions.. prepare yourself for the worst and angriest reaction and if they answer you nicely... praise God to let you experience a new MIRACLE in your life :) Of course, there are lots of nice and friendly and helpful people in Hungary. But...

 

~ you want to greet your Hungarian friend in Hungarian,

~ you are ordered to do business in Hungary,

~ you chose Hungarian as your major,

~ you are a tourist who want to ask for a cup of water in Hungarian

 

Somehow you want to manage your life in Hungary and willing to study more or less one of the world's hardest languages, HUNGARIAN.
